First Aid Course

    HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
    HLTAID011 – Provide first aid
    HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

This nationally recognised first aid training course covers a broad range of topics to enable participants to respond to first aid situations and manage patient care until an ambulance or other medical support arrives.Your Provide First Aid course is comprised of two components:

  1. Online learning and assessment
  2. Face-to-face training and assessment

Upon enrolment into this course, you are required to complete the mandatory theory learning and assessment. This is done online in your own time prior to your face-to-face training day.

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Recognising and responding to an emergency situation
  • Identifying, assessing and minimising immediate hazards
  • CPR techniques on adults and infants
  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 14 years of age
  • Physical ability to perform at least 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin on the floor
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Fitness and agility to undertake tasks

CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with:

  • a Statement of attainment for this unit HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

*A refresher needed for the First Aid course every 36 months and 12 months for the HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
